Due Process is one of them there things that is situated right at the very nucleus of a strong democracy. I have to emphasize at every turn that THE USA PATRIOT ACT renders due process a mere whim of a selective society of MONEY-GRUBBERS.

We can sit around with our thumbs up our asses but so long, people. When the Iraqi War started, upwards of 15,000 plus people had been arrested and detained without DUE PROCESS, which simply means they weren't given their rights, and they were rounded up Gestapo Style in the middle of the night all because of a little thing called the Patriot Act.
They were never told exactly what it was they were being detained for. Thousands of citizens in the USA were arrested, and were never "given their rights", so to speak.

I came out of the shower to be greeted by a gargantuan arachnoid. This spider was about three inches across, and very unpleasantly fuzzy. I managed to capture and release this beast, and it wasn't really all that much of an ordeal, but the spider was very intent on remaining free.

ALL THIS STARTED A LONG TIME AGO

I guess it's not too hard to figure out that I'm the kind of guy who is quite suspicious of things like governments and TEE-VEE and cell phones, and the internet. I don't really have a clue about any of this stuff, I just roam around on here like anyone else. A lot of times at night, I go roaming about the internet without my flashlight. I have bumped into a few really scary things on these innocent quests into the hearts of matters that matter. I was reading THIS, for instance...THIS, and it was really interesting, the parts I didn't sleep through. But go there if you wanna hear about Reagan's Machine of Deceit that would make even the likes of Rush Limbaugh blush. By the way, I think RUSH LIMBAUGH SUCKS more than that stupid cigar he wields like some nasty screen angainst anything progressive or that benefits the common good. The only thing I would want to ask Rush Limpballs is how do you go about getting some of them drugs he was gettin' and at a pretty good cost too, I hear...

Anyway... I thought it would be good to throw a light on some old news, but it's still pertinent, if you really think about. An interesting thing to me in the THIS link above is how in the video, the reporter, Bill Moyers talks about the money involved, and they are talking in the range of 10 to 15 million dollars concerning the Iran/Contra Scandal ( this is a shorter video ). That was an enormous amount back then , and today, we are facing a financial crisis dealing with trillions of dollars. We've come a long way, baby...

I'VE GOT TO CHANGE MY MINDS

MAN, I'M REALLY FUNKED-OUT TODAY... I had a rather interesting day at work today. I work at an establishment where there is a police-officer on duty all the time. I have often talked to "Mr. Cop Guy". Well, today he showed me a most interesting little item. He held in his hand a small art-project-looking item. It was a milk carton made to look like what I believe was a cow. This cute little "art-project" had a cute little nose on it, smaller than most buttons, about 1/4 inch diameter. Officer Dude revealed to me that the "nose " of the "cow" was actually a tiny camera. Shades of Big Brother !

The cop went on to explain that there had been thefts in the media center (library), and that the hidden camera had been placed in there for surveillance purposes, and that he was toting the camera down to the deal to view the results of about 3 days worth of surveillance.

I offered my compliments to the officer, and said " That's pretty sneaky" And he said " That's the point, you reckon?"

After the officer went his way and I mine... I was pondering just how many ways we are being watched from many angles unbeknownst, and quite often beknownst by us all. I thought about how I had, as a child, shoplifted chewing-tobacco of all things, and that was the extent of my criminal career. I thought... SHIT! I thought... "Damn, I was in the Media Center the other day and I swiped that newspaper!" ~tremble~

Oh well, they had a whole pile of them, but it just goes to show you that they can zero in on you, zoom in on that, reference it against a really far out program that recognizes facial features, and tells all those G-guys all about you in a matter of minutes !

Again, I live another day and ponder the paranoia of it all... but think about it. One single pixel (Google that) can hold a camera or an audio device. I can't wait till everything goes digital so that we can stop fooling with time and get to the random access we so rightfully deserve ! God save the State !

By the by - - - those GPS deals that everyone is cramming into every orifice they can find are another source of possible unwarranted spying. But hey, with The Patriot Act... the "warrant" gets treated like a badly wrinkled chewing-gum wrapper.
